Ordering is easy...

We are a little different from other online meat shops. A boutique producer, our supply season runs from October to May each year. To ensure you receive your order when you need it, we ask you order as early as possible in the season or even before the season starts. We work on a first come, first served basis and our top cuts sell-out fast. Ordering is easy: You create an account and select your preferred cuts and products for the delivery week of your choice.

Our Matangi Annual Release Programme commences the first week of October and runs through to May. For every delivery date, meat is fine cut that week by our master butcher Paul. All meat we sell comes from carcasses that have been dry aged on the bone for three weeks before Paul does the fine cuts. We can further dry age your chosen cuts should you desire.

When you order you will see a fixed per kg price for your cut and an estimated weight to give you an approximate total price. Once your cuts are processed by Paul, we will enter the exact weight and your account will be charged this final amount before your meat is dispatched that day.

You choose your cuts on an indicative weight basis. Please enter a new order for each new delivery week you have chosen.

We Select & Cut

Once we have selected the meat and we have the exact weight(s) we charge your account as we start packing.

WE PACK

We pack and dispatch every Wednesday. Cut off time for placing your order for this weeks delivery is Tuesday 7am.

WE deliver

Depending on where you live, your meat will be delivered on Thursday or Friday, fresh and chilled to your doorstep.

Our delivery options are:

Our chosen courier partner is NZ POST, and we monitor all our deliveries closely each week. Over 99% of our parcels were delivered on time during the 2021/22 season, so you can feel reassured that your order is in good hands.

We cannot guarantee overnight delivery to rural addresses. Instead please provide a collection point of choice or a non-rural delivery address. and they provide collection points nationwide. Please contact us at info@matangi.co.nz if you would like help finding one near you.


Delivery will be by courier in specially designed and insulated packaging, with ice packs added to ensure your order keeps cool until you get home (you can also have your meat delivered to your work or another address of your choice). Please don’t forget to refrigerate your order right away.

When will my order be dispatched?

We have one dispatch day a week: Wednesday.

Orders must be received by 7am Tuesday prior to your chosen delivery date. We dispatch on Wednesday for delivery Thursday to both North & South Island)
